Dhaneshwar Deonarine
Dhaneshwar Deonarine, Attorney-at-Law, is the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture in Guyana. With a strong background in public sector governance and international development, he brings a wealth of experience to the discussion. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Law and Economics, alongside a Master’s in Human Resource Planning and Development, and has recently completed a Master of Laws in Dispute Resolution from the University of Aberdeen. His impressive career includes roles such as Chief Labour Officer and Deputy Permanent Secretary,as well as national consultant for PAHO/WHO and Development Officer with Global Affairs Canada. Dhaneshwar has also lectured part-time at the University of Guyana. He is committed to advancing agricultural policies and practices, evidenced by his leadership on several national boards, including as Chairman of the Guyana Rice Development Board, Pesticide and Toxic Chemical Control Board, Guyana School of Agriculture, and Guyana Livestock Development Authority. His insights into agricultural governance, investments, trade and development will surely enrich today’s panel discussion.
