Representative in Mexico

Jaime Diego Montenegro Ernst is currently the Representative of the IICA Office in Mexico and Coordinator of Special Affairs for the Northern Region. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics, with a specialization in Public Policy for Sustainable Development; a Master of Science degree with a specialization in Agribusiness; and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in International Trade and Economic Development—both degrees awarded by Arizona State University. Dr. Montenegro served as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bolivia and has also held the position of IICA Representative in several countries. Additionally, he served as Regional Coordinator for Central America and as Director of Regional Management and Integration. Over the years, he has acted as an advisor and international consultant for various international agencies. In recognition of his contributions to the agricultural sector, he was awarded the highest honor for merit by the National Association of Oilseed and Wheat Producers (ANAPO) in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.
